A custom 3D wooden map of your farm or property. The paddocks, fence lines, house, dams and creeks are carved in layers so you can see the shape of the land, then set in an oak frame, ready to hang.
How it works
1. Not sure which style suits your place? Take the style survey and we'll email you a recommendation within 24 hours, or get in touch.
2. Choose a size and place your order.
3. We draft the design with you by email: contours, labels, legend, boundaries and waterways. Most are approved by the third draft.
4. Nothing is cut until you're happy. Then it takes about a week to make before it ships with DHL Express.

Drafting
About 2 weeks. We email you drafts. Most maps are approved by the third draft, and we keep going until you're happy.

All maps are framed and ready to hang.
Our frames are made from oak. Choose from one of the three finishes:
Natural - no staining, a blonde / sandy tone
Brown - a light brown stain
Black - a rich black stain
All frames are finished with lacquer, this adds durability and highlights the grain.

If you or the recipient don't love the map, return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Return postage is paid by you.
If it arrives damaged, email photos to tim@originmaps.com within 7 days and we'll replace it, cover a local reframe or refund you.
How does ordering a custom map work?
Pick a size and place your order. We then email you to go over the location and style, and send digital drafts. Most maps are approved by the third draft, and we keep going until you're happy. Nothing is cut until you approve the design.
Can I ask questions before I pay?
Yes. Take the style survey and we'll email you a style recommendation within 24 hours, or get in touch.
What do you need from me?
The location - an address, a dropped pin or a screenshot is fine. For farms a property map or boundary helps, but it isn't essential. We can source topographic and street data for anywhere in the world.
How long does it take?
About 2 weeks of drafting with you, then about 1 week of physical fabrication. Then we ship it with DHL Express: 2 to 4 business days to the US and Australia, 2 to 6 to NZ, Canada, Europe and other countries.
What is it made from?
The map is cut from layers of basswood and finished by hand. It comes set in an oak frame (natural, brown or black) with a wire on the back, ready to hang.
Can it be a surprise gift?
Yes. We work through the design with you by email, so the person you're giving it to never needs to know.
Does it have glass?
No. The map is left open so you can see the depth of the layers.
